Who I Am as an Artist Educator:

My work explores the relationships and camaraderie between girls and their experiences. It explores nostalgia, belonging, self-expression, and female strength, highlighting the connection between women and those around them. I am heavily inspired by the women I grew up around and have admired throughout my childhood, adolescence, and present day. I work primarily with watercolor, pen, and collage, and I enjoy storytelling through materiality, books, and motifs. I believe in creating a universe of girls where they can express themselves and exist freely. I aim to expand this universe infinitely through the physical art, the connection, and understanding.

As an artist educator, much of my work is rooted in my teaching experiences and pedagogy, with community at the forefront. Art is a means of connecting with people, which strongly aligns with my teaching philosophy. I believe it is essential to make the art classroom a place where students can feel safe expressing themselves and share a collective sense of understanding, and this approach works in tandem with my art practice. I aim to foster empathy, understanding, and a sense of belonging in both my classroom and in my art.
